He'd invited Greg around. It was his day off from school, and it would be nice to spend some time together- Even if things were complicated right now. Greg was grieving, and Danny was starting to take steps to open his business. Things felt unsteady and strange, but Danny was stubborn, and wanted to try and navigate it all. He wanted to make all of this work somehow.

It wasn't intended as reassurance for that, but... perhaps for more. For everything. Reassurance that things were still fine between them.

And House, at least, felt the spark when they kissed.

Danny raked his fingers through the other man's hair, kissing him again and then embracing him.

He nearly said those three words again, but he knew they weighed heavily on Greg. Best not to, Danny thought.

Despite the conflict still roiling inside him, House still felt more content in that moment than he had in some time.

"Danny," he murmured, "I'm so grateful for you."

"Yeah, well, give me time, I'm sure I can fuck it up," Danny joked.

"Funny, I was going to say the same thing." House tilted his head and kissed his neck instead.

Danny laughed and smiled, tilting his head and closing his eyes.

"We could place bets on who'll fuck up first..."

House trailed kisses to his collarbone, and slid a hand onto his thigh. "Maybe we shouldn't press our luck," he murmured.

"Fair enough," Danny laughed, gasping softly. "...Thought we were going to cuddle and watch telly."

"I'm sorry," said House softly. "Would you rather...?"

"I mean, I do so care about the lives of Housewives who are oh-so real, but... Kissing is nice. I like kissing," Danny smiled.

House's hand moved higher on his thigh, and he kissed him again. It felt nice... normal.

Danny moved to straddle him, moving cautiously, not wanting to hurt his leg.

"Is this okay?" he asked softly.

"Yes," House said, wrapping one arm around his waist. "Try not to worry about hurting me. Let me worry about that."

"I can't help it, I don't want to hurt you," Danny said, his hands coming to rest on the other man's shoulders. "I never want to hurt you, Greg."

"I'm broken," House said quietly. "It's just how it is. But you give me far more pleasure than pain."

Danny leaned in, resting his forehead against Greg's.

"I'll still be careful," he promised. "Always."

House caught his lips in another kiss. Hungrier this time.

Danny was a little concerned that House was using sex to avoid his grief... But it was a good kiss, and he was only human. It was easy to return it eagerly and with a passion he wanted Greg to feel.

House did feel it, and it felt good to feel wanted. It wasn't so much that he was avoiding his grief, he was... reconnecting with Danny. Though, to be fair, maybe those were at least partly the same thing.

His lips moved to his neck again, gentle, as his hands slid just underneath his shirt.

Danny closed his eyes, hands on Greg's shoulders as he sighed softly under the other man's attention.

Like this it was easy to forget about everything going on for a bit.

"I love the sounds you make, baby," whispered House against his ear, as his hands roamed slowly over his skin underneath his shirt.

"I love your hands, the way you touch me like I matter," Danny said quietly. "The soft scratch of stubble against my neck, the way your breath hitches slightly when I move... Just like this," he murmured, shifting slightly on Greg's lap.

Without even realizing it, House's breath did indeed hitch as arousal shot through him.

He didn't know what it was about his touch that made Danny feel like he mattered, but he hoped he could keep doing it. He pulled on Danny's shirt and lifted it over his head, then slid his hands onto his back. The slowness of this was incredibly hot, somehow.

Danny lifted his arms to help, but he was in no rush to get naked. This was... This was nice. Just touching, just being close. It reminded him of quiet days with Alex. Just going on hikes, or having a picnic.

House was feeling similarly. He was aroused, yes, but in no hurry. He kissed his neck again, remembering what he'd said about the stubble, then dropped his lips to his shoulder. One hand was supporting the small of his back, the other caressing his back. "You smell good," he murmured.
