Danny had spent part of the morning with John, then most of his day in class. When he finally got out the first thing he did was text Greg. He'd reached out to him the night before, but the other man had sounded stressed and busy. Danny hadn't wanted to pester him. They'd been through a lot in that place, and Danny knew Greg had to be worried about James.

Just got out of class. You free tonight? I'd like to see you.

He paused a beat, then sent another text.

I've missed you.

"Did you just call me baby?" Danny asked in a teasing tone. "Am I baby now?" he smiled, aiming to be a bit distracting. He honestly didn't know how else to help.

House managed a little smile. He hadn't even realized he said it. "I guess you are."

Danny smiled, leaning in and kissing Greg softly.

"I like that," he decided.

It felt good to make him smile. "I'll remember that."

"I was starting to worry we'd never be here again. Back in bed, just us together," he admitted, fingers tracing invisible patterns on Greg's chest.

House wished that Danny wouldn't get so attached. But he was also too selfish to push him away.

"When we were in that place," House said. "I would have... I mean, I remember how I felt, that I wanted you."

"You were being professional as you could be, I understand that, Greg. Respect it, even," Danny assured him.

House chuckled. "No I wasn't. You're the one who demurred when I tried to kiss you."

"Oh, right," Danny said, laughing a bit. "I take it back, dreadful doctor," he scolded playfully.

Thinking back to this was a distraction from the other topic, at least. House's lips quirked a little. "It would have been kind of hot, don't you think?"

"I suppose if you get off on medical misconduct," Danny laughed. Though his smile faded just a bit. "Besides, it wouldn't be hot if you didn't remember me."

"I'm sorry about that," said House. "But... we can play doctor sometime if you like."

"Oh? Want to examine me, Greg?" Danny teased, still touching and exploring the other man's chest.

"Would you like that?" House asked, relaxing a little as Danny touched him. They were still learning each other and he liked any tidbit about what turned Danny on.

"I like everything," Danny said. And while others might toss something like that out there to make themselves more appealing, for Danny it was true. He tried anything, everything... Anything for a lover.

"Yes, so you've said," said House, catching his hand that was still stroking House's chest, and brought it to his lips to kiss his knuckles. "But saying you like everything is about as useless for me as you saying you like nothing."

Danny wet his lips, watching Greg a beat, then sighing.

"I... One could argue that I've never really developed any specific desires in the bedroom," Danny admitted. "I've always just adapted to what my lovers want. I've done everything- Honestly, everything, and I don't think I have one thing I liked more than others. Alex was shy and new, and so I was the top, the leader. I guided him, because he needed it. Before that there was Jason, who was a bastard, a bit abusive. ...Okay, very abusive. He needed power, and so I gave him that. With Rich I was his submissive second hand, ringleader to the boys, pet to him. ...I understand that's not helpful. You're looking for something to give me, and I have nothing to suggest. ...I suppose because no one ever asked. They just guessed and then I went along with it."

House listened to this, and then he said gently, "I'm asking. And I'm not going to push for answers, but I'd really like to figure out how we can find them."

"Trial and error, I suppose," Danny said. "More than anything, Greg, I just like being with you. I like the way you look at me, the way you touch me. I like this, laying in bed beside you, feeling comfortable and cared about."

"Then let me be the first person to really care about what you like," House said softly. "I'm honored."

Danny smiled warmly at that, leaning in and kissing Greg soundly.

House returned the kiss, and then said, "Just... not tonight. I really am exhausted."

Danny laughed warmly, kissing him again.

"Alright," he agreed. "You hungry? I could order us something in. We can eat in bed, watch telly till sleep creeps up on us."

"Sure," said House. "Yes that's great, just don't be surprised if I fall asleep with a piece of pizza on my chest."

"You'll look adorable, I'm sure," Danny teased, grabbing his phone and tapping in an order.
