House
Danny had spent part of the morning with John, then most of his day in class. When he finally got out the first thing he did was text Greg. He'd reached out to him the night before, but the other man had sounded stressed and busy. Danny hadn't wanted to pester him. They'd been through a lot in that place, and Danny knew Greg had to be worried about James.
Just got out of class. You free tonight? I'd like to see you.
He paused a beat, then sent another text.
I've missed you.

"You don't always have to be fun, Greg," Danny said gently.

"I have met someone, someone I spent a night with, but- I'm invested in this. In you," Danny said honestly.

"Must not have been a very good night," he joked, because he couldn't handle a real response.

"No, I just really... I love you," Danny said quietly, looking embarrassed and sighing.

"I don't expect you to feel the same," Danny said quickly.

"I don't think love and reason go hand in hand. Love's mad, Greg. If it wasn't, you wouldn't be fawning over a dead man," Danny said softly, his words blunt but tone gentle.

Danny leaned in as well, returning the kiss and touching Greg's cheek softly.

"I don't know- I still don't know what that place was. I looked it up- It's been shut for an age. It makes no sense," Danny frowned. "I was thinking of driving out there this weekend."

"I won't pretend it didn't hurt, but it's not your fault- And we're home now," Danny said pushing his hair back.

"That he's manipulative? I don't know, I think I was just angry, he was so content there, and- I don't know. I do sometimes think he has this sway over people. Hex trails after him like a lost dog, and you- I mean, you have a soft spot for him."

"And I'd never deny you that, I just- I have reservations about him, that's all," Danny said honestly.

"Could we maybe... lay down?"
no subject
"Yeah, of course," Danny nodded, getting up and offering Greg his hand.

"I haven't really gotten any sleep," he said.
no subject
"Then you can sleep here," Danny promised. "You need something to help you? I have sleeping pills," he admitted.
