That uncomfortable flutter of nerves hit Danny again, and he was surprised by how hard it was to shake them off before nodding and following after Jack. He'd done this so many times, why was this any different? Perhaps because it had been so long, that was all he could think as he brushed the feelings away and found a smile.

He felt shame so strongly ha blanched, hung his head, and nodded.

"I'm the one who should be sorry. Not you," he said. "And I am. Sorry," he said.

And the worst part of it was that he knew he wouldn't be able to control himself around Fin the next time he saw the man.

"I wasn't digging for an apology. You fancy who you fancy, you can't help that. Just- Don't lie to me, Hex. Please," Danny replied. "Honesty is the only thing we can really promise each other."

"But you are desirable, Danny. I don't mean to make you feel like you're not," he said, catching the man's hand to lead him to the bedroom.

Danny followed, watching Hex the whole time. He said nothing for now though. Honestly, he wasn't sure there was anything to be said.

In the bedroom Hex let go. He pulled the covers down, then turned on a side lamp so he could shut off the overhead.

"Need the loo first?" he asked as he fluffed the pillows.

"No, I'm alright," Danny said, flopping onto the bed and stretching out lazily. "I'm fine."

Hex peeled off his jeans and climbed into bed in just his pants. He pulled the blankets up with one hand and moved in close.

Can I hold you?" he asked, though he basically was doing so already.

"Always," Danny said softly. "You can always hold me, pet."

He squirmed a bit and settled into his pillow so he could hold Danny close. Hex let out a contented sigh.

"Sleep well, Danny. It's been a long day."
