Danny joined him shortly after, putting one plate in front of Greg, the
other in front of himself.
He didn't mean to be awkward, but in some ways it felt like James was more
around than he'd been before. Before he'd been Greg's other partner. Not
even a rival or someone Danny even knew well. He'd fucked enough married
men that being the other woman hadn't been completely forign to him. Hell,
being the approved of other woman had been even easier. Sure, he'd always
prefered to be someone's only someone, but... But this- This was all new,
and it felt heavy. Like too much weight to carry sometimes. His feelings
for Greg hadn't changed, but their situation had. Not just because of
James' sudden absence, but because of John too. Danny hadn't intended to
get emotionally involved with both men, but he had, and now- Now he had no
idea what to do about any of it. No clue how to even talk about it.
"There's salt and pepper if you need it," he said, since he knew the
silence was becoming deafening.
