from here"I don't want the drink as bad as you do," Danny replied, and it was as much a pointed remark as it was a challenge. It had been a long time, but he knew what happened when he pushed Hex. He knew, and he wanted it.
If they were going to burn, it ought to be a damn good blaze.

"Good. ...Good," he whispered softly.

Hex pulled him in for a kiss, a lazy, slow kiss that burned with passion. Fingers danced over Danny's skin.
"You're the best," he said softly when the kiss broke. "I love you so much, Danny..."
no subject
"I think- I think I need to lay down," he confessed.

Hex caught him quick and held him tight. Concern painted his features as he helped Danny down to the bed.
"Love, I don't think you're alright," he said softly. "Let me untie you. Let's start with that," he said as he began to pick the knot.
no subject
"I'm alright," he insisted. "I'm fine, Hex."
He was always fine.

"Danny, don't shit me," he scolded. "Are you coming down? Maybe you should just rest. We can play more in a bit."
He hoped that was it. The drugs could be brutal, but a come down was much more preferable to the thought that Danny could be getting some kind of opportunistic disease his immune system couldn't fight off.
no subject
God, he hoped it was just the comedown.

"D'you want me to take that out of you?" he asked softly, rubbing Danny's arm to reassure him it was ok.

Hex very delicately undid the tape and carefully withdrew the toy. Then he slipped off Danny's condom before pulling a blanket up over him. Then he settled in beside him, sitting to face him so he could watch him closely. When the coughing fit passed he was clearly worried.
"Need another drink?" he asked.
no subject
Honestly, he felt congested and achy- But he didn't want to worry Hex, not this late at night.

Hex nodded and went to the cupboard to get the bottle of antihistimines. He was only gone a moment and came back with the pills.
He passed one to Danny, then laid his fingers on the man's neck to take his pulse.

"I think you have a fever," he said softly. "Let me go get the thermometer. If you're feverish we should go to hospital, just to be safe."

"Alright. Rest," he said. He tucked the covers up around Danny and fretted over him for another moment. Then he put out the light.
He went to the bathroom to clean up a bit, but the entire time he kept thinking of what could have Danny down. It was likely the drugs, that was the simplest answer. But it could be anything. Worrying about it made him a bit queasy.

His head was pounding and the cough was back in full force. Nose dripping and eyes rimmed red from being rubbed at, Danny didn't seem well. ...Just a cold, he assured himself. Just a cold, no big deal.

Hex had eventually crawled into bed with Danny, but he was up before the sun to go for a run. He was just stepping out of the shower when he heard Danny cough. It was an awful sound. He took one look at him and that decided it.
"Alright, up with you. We're taking you to A&E," he said, loving but firm. "I'll call out for the day. Get dressed."
And with that he pulled out his phone. First he sent for an uber, next he called work.

"Danny, you know that's foolish. If it's a cold it could turn into pneumonia by tonight. We're going to see someone," Hex said firmly as he fetched Danny some clothes.

"I'm not going to bend on this, Danny," he shot back. "So what if they test you? It'd be worse if I went to work and came home to find you..."
Sick. Dead. Words he wouldn't say aloud for fear they might come true.
"...Just get dressed...Or I'll take you like you are."
no subject
"I wish you wouldn't treat me like a child. I'm a grown man for fuck's sake. I should get to decide what I do in these situations," he muttered, looking unsteady on his feet as he cleaned up and got dressed.
no subject
Then stop acting like a child, he thought, but kept silent for a moment.
"You don't have the luxury of trying to sleep off a cold," he finally said gently. Once Danny was dressed, Hex moved in to touch him lightly. "I don't mean to fuss...I just don't want this to get any worse."
