Hex made himself right at home in the kitchen, peeking in the cupboards to
see what supplies there were, what meager food. He thought he had a real
chance here and he needed to sieze it. If he was going to really work at
being a better man he needed to start with himself. Working on what was
good in him. He couldn't live in a hole of doubt and self pity. If he could
be a better man, if he could be the sort of man Danny could be with and
respect and love...that was a start.
"Food!" he called when he had the scramble done and the toast buttered.
