"I packed to stay, remember? Wasn't planning on vanishing in the middle of the night," Danny replied with a slightly cheeky smile.

 

"Let me take my pill, I'll meet you up there. Give you a chance to set the mood," he added, stealing one more kiss and then moving to fetch his overnight bag.

"Mm-hmm. I'm going to lay here until I'm not dead anymore," Hex gasps.

It didn't take long to get himself cleaned up, and though he had a lot on his mind, Danny didn't linger in the bathroom too long. As much as he needed to clear his head, he didn't want to dwell on anything either.

Soon enough he was back in bed, laying on his side, studying Hex.

Hex had disposed of his condom in the bin and used a dirty shirt to wipe away lube and sweat, then had settled into bed. The room smelled of sex and the bed was plush and the air was warm...Hex was nearly asleep.

But when Danny laid down he opened his eyes and smiled at him.

"So you got me there doing what I wanted without thinking about you too much. That's what I'm like. Kind of an arse, really," he said.

"I liked it. Seeing you unfiltered, that is," Danny replied, pulling the covers up as he spoke. "I felt like I was finally getting to know the real you, Hex. "

"I can be a bit of a bastard. If I ever am, please, point it out," he said softly. It was much better now that he wasn't drinking...but in many ways he had never really outgrown his youth.

Danny nearly pointed out that he was being a bit bastard by being so manipulative- But Danny bit his tongue.

"You're fine. You've been very kind offering me a place to live."

"I really just worry about you there," he admitted. "You've been through so much...you deserve to be safe at home."

"I know- I know you have good intentions, and it's good to know you care, Hex," Danny assured him.

Hex rolled onto his side to face Danny and he gave him a soft kiss.

"Things will start looking up, yeah? You'll see."

"I hope you're right," Danny said softly. "Goodnight, Hex. We'll talk more about this tomorrow, yeah?"

"Yeah," he smiled, closing the distance to give Danny a good night kiss. "Sleep well. I might be gone when you wake up, though. I need to get a good run in in the morning. But then I'll come back and cook breakfast. Good night, love."

"If I'm really moving in, maybe I'll go home while you're out, talk to my room-mates, pack some things..." Danny replied.

That made him smile, even with his eyes shut.

"I hope this won't put them in a bad spot. But rent's paid for this month and hopefully they can get another flatmate before it's due again," Hex said drowsily.

"Don't imagine they'll have a hard time of it. Hard to find a cheep flat around here after all," Danny pointed out, yawning and then settling in to sleep.
